OPITO Approved Centre

OmniHealth is officially recognised as an OPITO Approved Centre for Shoulder Breadth Measurement.

This means offshore workers can now visit OmniHealth for an OPITO shoulder measurement, including certification and registration in OPITO Vantage.

What is an OPITO shoulder measurement?

The shoulder measurement itself is not new. Within offshore helicopter transport, shoulder breadth has long been used to classify workers as either Regular or XBR (Extra Broad). This classification plays an important role in safe seating arrangements and evacuation procedures in offshore helicopters.

What has changed is the way the measurement is internationally registered. OPITO has introduced a standardised system for certification and registration. An OPITO-registered shoulder measurement is recorded in the Vantage system and remains valid for four years.

OPITO registration

When do you need OPITO registration?

Not every offshore worker automatically requires separate OPITO registration. During a Dutch offshore medical examination, shoulder breadth is still measured as standard and the classification is stated on the medical certificate.

Separate OPITO registration may be required when specifically requested by an employer, client, operator or helicopter company.

OmniHealth can perform the OPITO shoulder measurement either as a standalone appointment or in combination with an offshore medical examination.
